Applications are invited for Ph.D. in Anthropology for academic session 2014-15 (forms are available from the Office of the Faculty of Science). Last date for the submission of forms in the office of the department is 28 February 2014.

• Students who are in receipt of any of the following types of fellowships / stipends.
  • University / Teaching Assistantships
  • JRF through UGC/NET and CSIR / NET
  • Fellowship of CSIR / CAR / ICSSR / ICHR / ICMR / DBT / DST or from any other recognized Government institutions / organizations
  • Rajiv Gandhi Fellowships for SC / ST from UGC
  • SAP Fellowship from UGC
  • Project JRF / Project Assistant
  • Candidates with UGC (non-NET) fellowships Rs. 5000/- fellowship under the new scheme
• Teachers of the University of Delhi and its affiliated colleges.
• Foreign students with their own fellowships.

Process of selection for each category of students shall be as under -

• Procedure provided in the guidelines for the University Teaching Assistantship
• Letter of award of JRF from UGC or CSIR
• Letter of award of fellowship from the concerned funding agency
• Letter of award of fellowship from the funding agency
• Selection through an interview by a committee consisting of the following -
  • An eminent scholar to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor
  • Head of the Department
  • One Professor and one Reader from the department, to be nominated by the Vice-Chancellor
  • Two experts from outside the university to be nominated by Vice-Chancellor
• Selection through an interview by a committee with composition as in above with the modification in the composition that instead of two Experts from outside the university, Project P.I. and any other additional member as per guidelines of the funding agency will be the members.
• • Letter of award of NET (LS) from UGC or CSIR. (No interview required)
  • For others, selection will be through an interview by a committee with the following composition -
    • Vice-Chancellor's Nominee : Chairperson
    • Head of the Department
    • Two faculty members (1 Professor / 1 Reader) adopting the Principle of rotation every year
  However, number of students that can be taken in each department under this category shall be as per the stipulations in Annexure-II.

60% or above marks in aggregate and 60% or above marks in Anthropology.
